Hello! I recently got a pair of Beyerdynamics dt 990 pro 250 ohm and are looking to get an amp and dac. I have been overwhelmed of all the options available but can still not seem to find which one that is right for these headphones. A few of the amp/dacs i am considering: Fiio E10K Olympus 2. Schiit stack (Modi + Magni 3+/heresy) ifi zen dac v2.

Feb 1, 2021. #154. DT990 is supposed to be the brightest of the classics, so issues in treble are to be expected. but I am kind of surprised with bass results - DT770 and DT880 have amazing bass (subjectively), Sennheiser and AKG aren't even close.
It becomes bright with Magni 2. X2 has a very wide soundstage, but it lacks depth. It has great imaging across the X-axis, but across the Y-axis, objects after a certain distance sound closer to you than they are. DT990 (600 ohms) is as wide as X2 and has much more depth. The imaging is also better on DT990.
For the kind of cash you would spend for the Schiit stack (Modi/Magni), or the ODAC/O2, you could get headphones noticeably better then the DT990 Pro 250-Ohm FiiO E10K or FiiO Q1 or Schiit Fulla or the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card, should provide good bang for the buck, for driving the DT990.
Sound has a lot of energy in general. If you are looking for the 5 Best Amps for Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm Headphone, you should give this one a chance. This is probably one of the 5 Best Amps for Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro250 Ohm Headphone you can find. The DAC-X6 has a variety of inputs and a headphone amp, so it’s really versatile.
DT 880 PRO. Studio headphones for mixing and mastering (semi-open) 250 ohms impedance for studio use (ideal for mixing, editing, mastering) Transparent, spacious and natural sound. Soft, circumaural and replaceable velour ear pads. Robust, comfortably padded and adjustable spring steel headband design. Made in Germany.
MusicRadar Verdict. There’s no denying that the DT 990 PRO does have a very Beyer-like character, but that’s no bad thing, especially if exceptional spaciousness and detailed tonal depth is what you’re after. While we wouldn’t really recommend these for tracking or casual listening, we’d definitely consider them for mixing duties
I have used my Fiio E11 to drive my DT990 Pro 250-Ohm. So the E17 should provide some good audio quality for your headphone(s).but The E17 offers zero surround sound for gaming and movies, so if you your ok with stereo (2-channel) sound for gaming and movies, then get the E17.
