XenonHID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs are filled with Xenon gas and contain two electrodes - one on each end of the tube-like bulb. When the bulb is switched on, an electric current passes between the two electrodes and the Xenon gas lights up. The Xenon gas is actually only used during the start-up of the bulb.

Zivman 717 posts · Joined 2004. #2 · Jan 24, 2006. Here's a pic of the '06 bi-xenon headlight. The projector is clearly bigger than on my '04, so I'm wondering how much sharper the beam pattern is, and/or how much brighter it is over my headlights. These are offered at PNP for $1295 a pair.
